How do you find a great photographer?
Start by asking your friends about their photographers and be sure to
look at their finished albums. Look for clear, bright images that
are properly exposed, retouched and technically correct. The
album should be organized to tell the story of the day with no events
missing. Ask your friends if their photographer was well dressed,
friendly, and excited to help them have an awesome day.
The next step is to interview the person that
would actually be your photographer on your big day. Don't settle
for just a receptionist or a pushy sales person. Remember that the
photographer is the one professional that will be with you before your
wedding, during the ceremony, and at your reception. Everyone will
see him. A demanding, impatient, or rude individual can ruin your entire
wedding day!
Here are the questions that I would ask, and
the answers that I would expect, when choosing a professional to
photograph my own wedding. Please feel free to print these questions
and take them with you. Ask every question listed when
interviewing
each photographer.
1. Do you lacquer all of your wedding photographs?
Answer: Yes. The lacquer provides a
washable surface that protects the photographs from pollution,
fingerprints, and moisture.
2. Do you retouch all of your wedding photographs?
Answer: Yes.
Every image is retouched for perfection.
3. What extra charges are added to the cost of the
photographs?
Answer: None.
4. Do you charge a higher price for photographs not ordered
in a package?
Answer: No.
5. How many photographs will you take at a wedding?
Answer: There is no
limit!
6. What style of images do you create?
Answer:
Most of our clients request a combination of contemporary, traditional and
journalistic photography.
7. What kind of lighting do you use?
Answer:
Studio lighting is the best for the classical images, natural lighting
for the ceremony, and simple accent lighting for the reception.
8. Who will help design the bride's album?
Answer:
We are here to help you choose the size and location of every image in
your album.
9. How many different sizes will fit in the albums that you
offer?
Answer: You choose
from any combination of three different sizes.
10. Are the bride and groom financially responsible for other
peoples orders?
Answer: No.
Each order is separate.
11. How long have you been in business?
Answer: Chris Leavitt
Photography was founded in 1973.
12. Do you enjoy photographing weddings?
Answer: We love
weddings and our satisfied clients prove it!
